15th July 1972, 3.32 PM. Is modernism dead already? Who can answer this question? Every person has their own opinions. Whether modernism is dead or not, nobody knows it. Nobody can argue it. This question is not supposed to have a definite answer. We can’t going in or out one another, whether it needs to be remembered or to be forgotten. This question is not supposed to be decided by the architect to build the memorial. Architects should offer the choice to people and that choices is their own answer. We are not the judge.

FREEEDOM brings a new concept of memorial which is a memorial that gives people a freedom of space to share their opinions through experiencing the memorial. FREEDOM is a disjunction space which tell the truth through a compound of opinions. Opinions becomes an act giving a unique identity into the society. Nothing is right and nothing is wrong, only emotion that works and it is beautiful.

As a memorial of modernism, FREEEDOM concept to decide site location is based on the survivor of modernism building. This site is at the front of modernism building survived in the world. This means that our memorial will be at every point where modernism buildings still exist. The shape and dimentions follows the concept to show modernism buildings below the pedestrian foot. The black smoke used as symbol of modernism building fall. A hand sculpture addition that touch the glass floor from inside the reflection of building shown as victim of modernism.

This memorial design gives a humble and free space. There are many kinds of activities that happened and cannot be predicted, but a memorial can be designed to give the freedom. This freedom of space is offered to be an idea to create a memorial that can be forgotten or be remembered.
