FISHERMAN COMMUNITY AT MUARA BARU, JAKARTA

 

Indonesia has many big potentials as maritime country. As 7th president of Republic Indonesia said that Indonesia will be identified as global maritime axis. Indonesia fishermen is part of Indonesia maritime axis from economic aspect. There are 61.813 fishermen in Jakarta area. These fishermen are spread in around some bases in Jakarta. These bases are in Tanjung Pasir, Marunda, Muara Baru, Muara Angke, Dadap. Their activities either individual that has no potentials but some experiences by their generations, or by groups with boat owner as their leader. With visibility, their life is depended either by normal or lower life standard. To improve competence and expertise of fishermans, a community facility is established to facilitate competence and expertise of fishermans to aim their independent and decent life. The location for this community taken place at Muara Baru district, Jakarta.
